Dreaming Big, Aiming High

I have big dreams. Many people ask me about it, but I don’t quite know how to say it without a big long story. So I’m going to give you the big, long story. When I was in middle school I had to do a project called “Truth into the Culture”, my project was a camp for troubled kids, meaning kids from divorced homes, in foster care, that kind of stuff. It was on a ranch where the kids would work with horses and have the responsibility of animal chores and stuff like that. The place would be called Treeline Farm. The dream of Treeline Farm has grown into so much more than a camp for troubled kids. One of my passions and heartbreaks is orphans. As a future social worker, I will have the possibility of working with orphans. I want to work internationally after becoming a Licensed Masters Social Worker and get to know that side of adoption. After a few years in Europe, or wherever, I would like to come back stateside and work towards my dream of Treeline Farm.
Treeline Farm will be an orphanage/ranch/camp and many other things, including, hopefully, my home. I have many friends who have thought about going into the “business” with me, which is what makes the dream bigger and bigger all the time. Which is really cool to me. The orphanage, I have a lot of thoughts about it and how it could run. I would like to set it up to where there are individual family units living on site and they become the families of the orphans, kind of like foster care, but these would be insured safe homes. I believe the family structure would be helpful for any child who has gone through any kind of loss, and it could also help with the child feeling like he/she belongs. There would also be a main building which would maybe have dormitories for the kids who have not been placed into their “foster homes” yet, and the school would be in the building and a gym and lots of stuff. The ranch, oh the ranch is gonna be cool. It’s gonna be shared between the orphanage, the camp, and other things too. One of my friends has thought about rescuing horses from their abusive homes, and then I thought about having people who need “rescued” as well to bring these horses back to health. I've thought of doing this thing I just heard about that has to do with veterans. The emotional bond between horses and people is really cool, I don’t know what it is about horses, but they feel all sorts of things for us and with us. So I’ve thought of using part of the ranch as a therapeutic aspect for wounded warriors. The ranch would help the kids at the camp because of what I said before with the original dream. The camp is actually something another friend of mine wants to do, and I already kind of said what the camp would do. There’s quite a bit of places the camp is similar to. My home will be on this beautiful place, it will be separate, but on the property or right next to it.

So see, I dream big, not because dreams are fun (even though they are), but because they are possible. Everything is possible with God. Nothing is impossible, the very word impossible says, “Im possible”. I’m aiming high because I believe it is possible. The hardest part is to wait for the right time, all the people, and for the big dream to become a reality. But God’s timing is perfect, and I’ll just keep on working towards my dream and keep recruiting people to help me. God is way beyond good!! If you have questions, feel free to ask, cause I love to talk about it. :)
